Dear Hirers of the Jubilee

As a Committee we are aware of the important part that our hirers play in the life and sustainability of the Jubilee, and it is with real disappointment that I am writing to say that we have now taken the decision not to re-open before the New Year and to review this decision again in December. We feel that it is important for us to be as decisive as possible, as we understand that you need to be able to plan

With the latest Government announcement, and the indication that we will most likely be in this difficult situation until the Spring of 2021, it is possible that in December we may have to defer yet again

As I said in my previous letter, we appreciate the hardships and frustration that this will cause, and particularly to those of you working so hard to maintain your businesses. We also know how much the local community enjoys the activities and services you provide, and how much your input will be missed, and we are truly sorry that we have to take this decision but it is, of course, our priority to protect everyone’s safety

Over the last few years, the Committee, together with many volunteers, have worked hard to develop a facility that the community will enjoy using and just as we are seeing the fruits of our labours we, too, have to accept that we have to put everything on hold

We sincerely hope that you will feel able to re-join us when this most trying of situations has passed and we can all return to the activities that we treasure

In the meantime, we wish you and your families well

Kind regards

Sue White

About Us

Situated in the heart of the main shopping area of Balsall Common, in the free public car-park behind the new Tesco store and Costa, The Jubilee is a community-based charity set up by a board of local trustees. It has been totally refurbished and repainted, with much of the work being done by volunteers in the community! The hall is also suitable for daytime or evening events for older people, children’s parties, committee meetings or consultation and information events, and exercise and dance classes, boxing club and indoors bowls etc. Maximum capacity approx 80-100, seating and tables for 60.
